Description:

The human body as a canvas, tied down or just laying voluntarily still.  A fire pot slowly bringing a metal tool to a red hot glow.  A design prepared with the artwork that will (near-) permanently mark the "victim."  A skilled practitioner standing above them in gleeful anticipation.  It's a scene as old as humanity itself.
There has been body art / modification for as long as there have been human bodies, and scarification and tattooing has been an integral part of the BDSM community from its earliest beginnings as well.  Many in the scene know of "the Devil's Fire," a form of play where heated medical implements are used on a bottom to produce a rush of endorphins and send the recipient deep into sub-space.
Connie -- The Artistic Domme (ArtisticDomme.com) -- has taken the concept of the Devil's Fire and evolved it into a form of body art and semi-permanent tattooing.  Cell Popping Body Art is essentially the process of creating single-pore burns on the human canvas to create artistic designs AND also create an incredible endorphin experience in the same breath.
In her work, Artistic Domme uses stencil templates that are cut in advance to create her designs and control the position of the "burning poker" as she works on the subject.  The whole process can take from 30 minutes for a very small design to over 4 or 5 hours for a full-back design that might require 1000 separate burns.  This "Hot Pointillism" looks much like a muted pink tattoo as it heals and can last anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months or longer, depending on the skin healing capabilities of the individual.  The process or receiving a cell popping is exciting at the time and the healing process adds an additional BDSM dimension as the tattoo can sometimes itch as it heals/scars and is a constant reminder of the experience.  Some have even been known to have gentle flashbacks into subspace from the ongoing stimulation of the healing process.
Connie has recently begun to provide Cell Popping Kits on her website that will allow those with minimal experience to learn from her CD-ROM based instructional video and perform cell popping in the privacy of their own home.  With a little common sense, Artistic Domme's kit, and some practice, anyone can become a basic practitioner of this newly evolved body art form and D/s experience with roots as old as humanity itself.
